April to May 1st
All areas closed to striped bass fishing. CLOSED
- No catch and release fishing. Attempting to catch striped bass is illegal during this time period.
May 1st - May 15th
The 2023 Maryland Trophy Striped Bass (aka “Rockfish”) Season will start on Monday, May 1st and will run from May 1st- May 15th. During this season the Striped Bass must be 35 inches or over to keep and only one Striped Bass may be kept per person, per day.
May 16th - Dec 10th
The proposed Striped Bass daily bag limit options are as follows: One Striped Bass may be kept per person. One fish ranging from 19-24 inches or one fish may be kept from 19-24 inches. All fish caught or harvested are logged on the Maryland Department of Natural Resources FACTS Charter Reporting system in an effort to better the management of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. This Season is from May 16th- July 15th & August 1st- December 10th.
*Special Notice*: Trips from July 16th to July 31st will not target Striped Bass due to Maryland Law. Species of target will include Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Perch, Spot, Croaker, Catfish, and any additional seasonal species if available.
